Poker hand rankings determine which five-card combination wins in showdowns. The same ranking system applies to standard poker games and casino poker variants like Three Card Poker (adjusted for three cards) and Casino Hold’em.
Five-card hand rankings from strongest to weakest
Royal Flush (A-K-Q-J-10 same suit) is the best possible hand and is unbeatable. Straight Flush (five consecutive cards same suit). Four of a Kind (four cards of the same rank). Full House (three of a kind plus a pair). Flush (five cards same suit, not consecutive). Straight (five consecutive ranks, different suits). Three of a Kind. Two Pair. One Pair. High Card (no matching ranks or pattern).
How rankings apply to casino poker
In Three Card Poker, straights rank above flushes because it’s harder to make a straight with only three cards than a flush. In standard five-card poker, a flush beats a straight. Always check the specific ranking rules for the variant you’re playing since some games adjust the traditional order.
