What is a sticky bonus?
A sticky bonus is a casino bonus that cannot be withdrawn — only your winnings from it can be cashed out. The bonus amount itself stays in your account permanently until you’ve completed the wagering requirements, at which point it’s removed and only the winnings remain withdrawable.
How it works in practice
If you receive a $50 sticky bonus and wager it up to $200 through a series of bets while meeting the wagering requirement, you’d be able to withdraw $150 (the $200 minus the $50 bonus which gets removed). The bonus amount essentially acts as a bankroll booster that disappears once it’s done its job.
Sticky vs non-sticky
With a non-sticky bonus, the bonus and your deposit stay separate. You can withdraw your deposit at any time, and the bonus is forfeited when you do. Sticky bonuses stay in your account throughout play and are only removed when wagering is complete. Non-sticky bonuses are generally more player-friendly since you retain access to your own deposit at all times.
