What is wagering contribution?
Wagering contribution refers to the percentage by which bets on specific games count toward clearing a bonus wagering requirement. Slots usually contribute 100%, while table games often contribute significantly less or not at all.
Why contribution rates vary
Casinos set lower contribution rates on games with lower house edges because those games make it easier to clear wagering requirements without the casino making much money. Blackjack with basic strategy has a very low house edge, so contributing 10% (rather than 100%) makes the effective wagering requirement ten times harder to complete on that game.
Reading the contribution table
Before accepting any bonus, look for the game contribution table in the bonus terms. A typical table might show: slots 100%, video poker 20%, blackjack 10%, roulette 10%, live casino 0%.
