What is eCOGRA?
eCOGRA (eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance) is an independent testing and certification agency for online gambling. It audits casino software, certifies game fairness, and provides player dispute resolution services.
What eCOGRA certifies
eCOGRA’s seal of approval (‘Safe and Fair’ or ‘Approved Software’) indicates that the casino’s games have been tested for randomness, that payout percentages are accurate, and that the platform meets their standards for player protection and fair gameplay. The certification is separate from a government licence — a casino can hold a valid licence and also have eCOGRA certification.
eCOGRA ADR service
eCOGRA operates an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service. If you have a complaint with a casino that can’t be resolved directly, and the casino uses eCOGRA as their ADR provider, you can submit the dispute to eCOGRA for independent adjudication. Their decision is binding on the casino. Not all casinos use eCOGRA as their ADR — check which service your casino has designated.
