What is Lightning Dice?
Lightning Dice is a live casino game from Evolution Gaming where three dice are dropped into a transparent tube and tumble to the bottom, showing a result between 3 and 18. Players bet on which total will appear, and each round one or more totals receive random lightning multipliers.
How betting works
There are 16 possible totals (3 through 18). Each has a different probability based on how many dice combinations produce it. A total of 10 or 11 is most likely; totals of 3 or 18 require all three dice to show the same number and are very rare. Payouts are set below true odds to create the house edge, but lightning multipliers of 50x, 100x, 200x, or 500x can appear on any total before a round.
The lightning mechanic
Before each roll, 1-3 random totals are struck by lightning and receive multiplier bonuses. If the dice land on a multiplied total, winning bets on that number pay at the enhanced rate rather than the base payout. This mechanic is the same concept used in Lightning Roulette and means that even low-probability totals become worth betting on occasionally when they carry a high multiplier.
