Is online gambling legal in Vietnam?

The reality of online access
A significant number of Vietnamese players access international online casinos despite the prohibition. Offshore operators with Vietnamese-language interfaces serve this market from outside the country. Vietnamese authorities have pursued blocks on gambling sites and payment restrictions, but access via VPN or alternative payment methods remains widespread. Players doing so face legal risk, though individual prosecution is relatively uncommon compared to operator enforcement.
